Skin Tightening and Wrinkle Reduction

Facial aging is caused overtime due to a loss of elasticity, muscle tone, bony and fat volume. These changes are caused by a combination of factors, including genetics, sun exposure, smoking status.

Wrinkles can be either static or dynamic. Static wrinkles are present without the use of facial muscles and are caused by sagging of facial structures. Dynamic wrinkles are those caused by use of facial muscles, but they often become more permanent and noticeable as we age.

Static wrinkles are best treated often with surgery, filler or combination of the two.

Dynamic wrinkles are best treated with Botox or Xeomin.

Facial aging and wrinkles can be treated in our office by the following options:

  • Brow/forehead lift
  • Lower eyelid blepharoplasty
  • Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
  • Fractional CO2 laser
    • A Fractional CO2 laser is the gold standard for laser facial resurfacing and rejuvenation. It addresses both epidermal (skin surface) and dermal (deeper skin structure) causes of aging. The “fractional” portion of the laser means the laser penetrates in small dot patterns, maintaining areas of non-lasered skin. The result is rejuvenation without the long down time of traditional CO2 lasers.
    • The CO2 laser uses a combination of carbon dioxide, helium, nitrogen, and hydrogen. It removes a thin layer of skin in a precise pattern to vaporize the outer layer of skin.
    • It can help reduce fine and deep wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, redness and other imperfections.
  • Filler
    • There are many different types of fillers that are on the market today. Here at COC we only use hyaluronic acid based fillers because they are the safest and most effective.
    • Fillers can be used for plumping, deep static wrinkle reduction and in areas of aging related volume loss.
    • Your surgeon will administer your filler in the office and can choose the best filler type for the areas you would like treated.
  • Botox/Xeomin
    • Neuromodulating therapy, more commonly referred to as Botox, is one of the most common non surgical cosmetic procedures available.
    • Botox and Xeomin are toxins that prevent the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter) at the nerve ending, thus preventing contraction of the facial muscles.
    • It is best used for dynamic wrinkles of the forehead, crows feet and frown lines between the eyebrows.
    • It is a safe and effective treatment. It typically will be repeated every 3-6 months for best results.
